1 dead, 8 hurt in Ilocos road mishap

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines – A 20-year-old woman was killed and eight others were seriously injured when the van they were riding was hit by an Isuzu truck in Barangay Angkileng, Sta. Lucia, Ilocos Sur last Sunday.

Police identified the fatality as Gladys Yaris, a resident  of Barangay Samara, Aringay, La Union.

The driver of the van, Ely Ibasan, 31; his wife Gelyn, 26; their children Ylanie, 9, Shyshy, 8, and Rabrab, 2; truck driver, Nelson Paa, 38;  and truck helpers Aronie Carmelo, 28, and Ronel Calso were injured.
