Rescue teams at the Semirara coal mine in Antique on Monday recovered a severed arm believed to be from one of the workers buried at the pit last week, police said.
Chief Supt. Agrimero Cruz. Jr., western Visayas regional police office director, said the left arm was fished out around 9:30 a.m. at the Panian Mine pit at Brgy. Caluya.
Cruz said rescuers spotted the severed body part at the water in the pit.
The left arm was brought to Semirara Infirmary, Cruz added.
As of this posting, search and rescue operations at the site were temporarily suspended due to bad weather.
Five more workers still remain missing since the landslide at the Panian mine pit Thursday night.
