Comelec OKs early voting for media
MANILA, Philippines - The Commission on Elections has issued a resolution, allowing members of the media to cast their votes earlier than the scheduled midterm polls on May 13.
A radio report said Comelec resolution no. 9637 has allowed the press to vote in the regional election office if they are based at the National Capital Region, city election office if based in highly urbanized or independent cities and provincial election office in the provinces.
In the same resolution, the Comelec will require a media worker to file an application until Mar. 31 to avail himself of the privilege to vote earlier than the scheduled election on May 13.
The poll body has scheduled members of the media, like personnel of the Philippine National Police and Armed Forcers of the Philippines, to cast their votes on Apr. 28, 29 and 30.
