MANILA, Philippines - The Philippines condemns the nuclear test carried out by the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) today, a statement from the Department of Foreign Affairs said.
"The nuclear test by the DPRK clearly violates UN Security Council Resolutions 1695 (2006), 1718 (2006) and 1874 (2009) which demanded that the DPRK not conduct any further nuclear tests," the DFA added.
The Philippines also said it joins its international partners in urging the DPRK to desist from continuing these acts of provocation and to abandon all nuclear weapons and programs to uphold the peace and stability in the Korean Peninsula and the Asia Pacific Region.
North Korea confirmed that it conducted third underground nuclear test and that it was successful.
