MANILA, Philippines - Two soldiers were hurt in a clash in Labo, Camarines Norte that led to the capture of a New People’s Army camp last Sunday.
Lt. Col. Michael Buhat, commander of the 49th Infantry Battalion, said the soldiers were conducting security patrol at past 3 p.m. when they discovered the rebel camp.
Buhat said the camp was “fortified with bunkers†and “equipped with huts and bleachers.â€
Col. Richard Lagrana, chief of the Army’s 902nd Infantry Brigade, said he ordered pursuit operations against the rebels.
