MALOLOS CITY, Philippines – The family of a 14-year-old high school student who died during a field trip in Tanay, Rizal on Friday said yesterday they might file charges against the school’s officials and the tour operator.
“We will definitely file charges, somebody should be held liable,†Roberto Ramirez, the uncle of Rio Bianca Ramirez, said in a telephone interview.
Outbound Tours organized the eco-tour of the Holy Spirit Academy of Malolos (HSAM) students in Tanay, Rizal.
In a statement posted on Facebook, HSAM said they will conduct a crisis debriefing and extend assistance to the family of the victim.
Rio Blanca was taking pictures of a fellow student when an unmanned bus rolled downhill and pinned her body against a parked truck.
Rio Bianca’s classmate, Pamela Enrique, also suffered injuries.
