COTABATO CITY, Philippines – A policeman of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao and his civilian cohort were arrested for motorcycle theft in North Cotabato over the weekend.
Investigators identified the suspects as PO2 Hashim Salik and Habib Ali.
The suspects were intercepted at a checkpoint in Pigcawayan town, riding a motorcycle owned by Joseph Capistrano, a resident of Midsayap.
Salik and Ali reportedly took Capistrano’s motorcycle after the victim figured in an accident involving the car of a companion of Salik.
Capistrano said he was made to believe by Salik, Ali and the owner of the car that they will take his motorcycle to have it fixed and inspected by police investigators.
