Michael Punongbayan - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) recently arrested a 17-year-old girl after she was caught in the act of processing marijuana plants into marijuana bricks in Benguet.

The minor, who will still be charged for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act, was turned over to the social welfare office of Kibungan town.

PDEA director general Arturo Cacdac Jr. said the girl was nabbed in a joint operation with the Philippine Air Force in Sitio Kalipayan, Barangay Badeo, Kibungan where 550 fully grown marijuana plants were also found and uprooted.

Cacdac said the raid is part of “Operation Plan: Golden Green Sky” in the tri-boundaries of Benguet, Ilocos Sur and La Union.
