P’sinan river cleanup project wins award

The Philippine Star

LINGAYEN, Philippines – The provincial government of Pangasinan bagged an award in the Search for TOFARM 2012 (Ten Outstanding Farmers of the Philippines) last week given by the Junior Chamber Philippines Inc. and the Universal Harvester Inc.

The TOFARM award in the local government category was conferred to Pangasinan for its entry, the “Ilog Ko, Bilayen Tan Aroen Ko” project.

Dalisay Moya, acting provincial agriculturist, said the award shows that agriculture ranks on top of the thrusts of the administration of Gov. Amado Espino Jr.

Espino initiated the project to help save rivers and waterways by clearing and cleaning major tributaries in the province.

Meanwhile, Eduardo Aucena of Manaoag town ranked second in the Young Farmer Category.
