Two hurt in UP-Diliman blast

MANILA, Philippines - Two maintenance employees were hurt in an explosion at the University of the Philippines' campus in Diliman, Quezon City on Monday.

Police identified the injured victims as Faustino Valencia and Leonardo Natividad, employees of the university's Campus Maintenance Office.

Police said that the two victims were installing street lights near Palma Hall when they were hit by the explosion.

Investigators said that the explosion was caused by a pillbox planted near Palma Hall.

Valencia has been rushed to the university's infirmary while Natividad was brought to the East Avenue Medical Center.
