6 killed as family van falls into ravine in Benguet

MANILA, Philippines - Six members of a family died after their van fell into a ravine in Atok, Benguet before dawn Monday.

The fatalities were identified as Laurence Bondad, Melanie Rondares, Jynnah Rie Galino, Racquel Galino, Kyla Rondares and Claring Abalos.

Police said that based on initial investigations, the van fell into a ravine in Barangay Abiang after its driver fell asleep at around 2 a.m.

The driver identified as Wilbert Galino survived the accident. Six more passengers identified as Panganiban Bauding Galino, Fritzie Bondad, Howard Rondares, Travish Josh Rondares, Fevelyn Garcia and Elmer Galino also escaped the accident alive.
