CJ Sereno orders probe on Cebu court shooting

MANILA, Philippines - Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno on Tuesday directed Court Administrator Midas Marquez to go to Cebu to look into the shooting incident inside the Cebu City Municipal Trial Court in Cities.

Reports said the shooting happened on Tuesday morning at the courtroom of Judge Anatalio Necesario of the Cebu City Municipal Trial Court branch 2.

The Chief Justice also ordered Marquez to immediately report to the members of the Supreme Court the result of his probe into the incident.

The SC said the Cebu City Executive Judge has suspended the hearings for Tuesday owing to the incident.

"No court employee was reportedly harmed," the SC public information office said in a text message. - Dennis Carcamo
