10 hurt in Iligan City bomb blast

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines – At least 10 persons, including a policeman, were wounded when a bomb exploded in Iligan City, Lanao del Norte yesterday morning, a military official said.

The improvised explosive device, which was rigged on a bicycle, exploded near the old Gaisano Department Store along Quezon Avenue at 10:35 a.m., Brig. Gen. Daniel Lucero, commander of 103rd Army Brigade, said 

Lucero said the victims were rushed to the Iligan City Hospital, and four of them remained hospitalized.

The wounded policeman was identified as Police Officer 3 Jun Cabahug.

Police and military authorities have yet to determine the motive for the bomb attack. – Roel Pareño, Lino de la Cruz
