Incoming NDRRMC chief attends first meeting

MANILA, Philippines - The replacement of outgoing National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (NDRRMC) executive director Benito Ramos arrived on Monday before noon for a briefing in Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City.
Retired Maj. Gen. Eduardo del Rosario was briefing by Ramos at the NDRRMC office regarding the functions of the council.
Del Rosario retired as the commanding general of the 2nd Infantry Division before being recommended by Defense Secretary Voltaire Gazmin to replace Ramos.
Del Rosario was the chairman of Task Force Kalihim. He led the search and rescue operations for the late Interior and Local Government Secretary Jesse Robredo and two others during the Masbate plane crash.
Ramos resigned his post to take care of his ailing wife, who has been suffering from diabetes. His resignation takes effect on February 1.
