No immediate CA relief for Muhlach

Edu Punay - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Actor Aga Muhlach has failed to get immediate relief from the Court of Appeals (CA) against a Camarines Sur court order effectively preventing his congressional bid in May.

This, after the CA’s 12th Division did not issue the temporary restraining order (TRO) sought by Muhlach to enjoin the San Jose, Camarines Sur regional trial court (RTC) from implementing its Dec. 17, 2012 order to the election registration board for his exclusion in the municipal list of voters.

In a two-page resolution, the CA decided to first hear the case in oral arguments on Jan. 15. It also ordered the Office of the Solicitor General to answer the petition.

Muhlach’s wife, beauty queen-turned-actress and host Charlene Gonzales, who was also delisted in the San Jose book of voters, joined her husband in filing the petition.
