Authorities arrested a part-time caregiver at a port in Dapitan City after he was caught in possession of marijuana, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency said on Friday.
PDEA director general Arturo Cacdac Jr. said anti-narcotics agents nabbed Bonn Brylle Lim, 23, of Sorronda Road, Turno, Dipolog City.
Cacdac said Lim, through his identification card, was applying for US residency.
Last Jan. 3, Lim was apprehended by PDEA operatives after a regular baggage inspection of passengers off the Pulaoan Port, San Vicente, Dapitan City.
Seized from Lim during the inspection were two sticks of marijuana and 10.3573 grams of dried marijuana leaves placed inside a zip-lock plastic container.
Meanwhile, in Naga City, authorities arrested Carlos Diaz, 44, a watch-listed drug personality last Jan. 6.
Diaz yielded 40.647 grams of dried marijuana leaves with fruiting tops, PDEA said.
Lim and Diaz are now facing charges for violation of Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. - Dennis Carcamo
