2 SAF men, civilian hurt in grenade blast

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines – Motorcycle-riding men hurled a grenade at a detachment of the Special Action Force (SAF) in Lamitan City, Basilan Monday night, leaving two members of the elite police unit and a civilian injured.
The grenade attack occurred after the SAF had just ended a checkpoint operation in front of their detachment along Rizal Avenue in Lamitan, said Chief Inspector Kenneth Balisang, city police chief.
The attack came amid firecracker blasts around the city.
