The Philippine Star

BATANGAS, Philippines – The bodies of three persons were discovered inside a burned car in San Pascual, Batangas on Sunday, officials said.

Superintendent Rosauro Acio, Batangas police director, said the San Pascual fire and police stations received a telephone call from a certain Mercy Aldovino, who reported a burning Toyota Rav-4 (XPA-519) at a vacant lot in Barangay Pook ni Banal at 4:40 a.m.

The charred bodies were found when the fire was placed under control at around 5:15 a.m.

Police are still trying to determine if the three died in an accident or were murdered. They said the victims could have been killed before the car was torched.

The bodies will undergo autopsy and DNA testing to determine their identities.
