Brothers nabbed after killing drinking buddy

TUBA, Benguet – Brothers Manuel Mendoza Cadiz, 27 and Gilbert, 23, natives of Lallo town, Cagayan fell to policemen here on Thursday after hacking to death a 60-year-old drinking buddy 13 times.

Benguet police director Senior Supt. Benjamin Lusad said policemen collared the brothers, who after killing Wilfredo Villaruz from Dontogan, Baguio City fled to avoid getting caught.

Earlier,  the trio, police said, had a drinking spree at the house of Elpidio Quinomis.  A heated argument ensued leading to the killing at Sitio Asinan, Taloy Sur, here.

The brothers reportedly took turns in hacking the 60-year-old.
