MANILA, Philippines - Hundreds of people were were displaced from their homes after a flashflood struck a village in Balingoan town in Misamis Oriental on Tuesday night.
The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council reported on Thursday that the flashflood took place at around 9:30 p.m. at Barangay Bauk-Bauk.
No one was reported injured in the flashflood even after the water subsided at around 11:30 p.m.
The NDRRMC said that 167 families or 705 people were evacuated to the Balingoan Municipal Gymnasium.
They returned to their homes the next morning.
