Quezon passes resolution to keep soldiers in poll hotspots

LUCENA CITY, Philippines – The Quezon provincial government passed a resolution affirming the need for members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines to be deployed in election hotspots in the province.

Resolution 02-2012 was approved upon the motion of third district board member Victor Reyes during a recent committee hearing of the provincial peace and order council.

The resolution said the presence of the Philippine Army, particularly in the Bondoc Peninsula would “ensure peace and order, protection of business enterprises and promotion of economic growth.”
