TABUK CITY, Kalinga, Philippines – A 28-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of transporting dried marijuana leaves with an estimated market value of P550,000, police and anti-narcotics operatives said.
Merlyn Dangsoy Guimba, a native of Tulgao West, Tinglayan town in Kalinga, was riding a Baguio-bound GL bus when he was stopped at a checkpoint at the exit of Tabuk City in Sitio Talaka, Barangay Agbannawag last Thursday.
Cordillera police director Chief Superintendent Benjamin Magalong said an informant tipped them that Guimba was transporting 22 pieces of dried marijuana bricks weighing at least 22 kilos.
