Tsinoy shot dead, robbed in Manila

MANILA, Philippines - A Filipino-Chinese businessman shot dead and then robbed by two motorcycle-riding gunmen in Manila on Monday.

Leonardo Chua, who was brought to Lourdes Hospital, suffered five gunshot wounds, including one in the face.

Initial reports said that Chua, who runs a business in Tuguegarao, Cagayan, was waiting for his driver inside his Nissan Patrol parked along Aliw-iw Street, Sta. Mesa, Manila when one of the suspects approached the vehicle.

After shooting Chua several times, the gunmen took the victim's wristwatch and necklace estimated at P100,000.

The family has requested that the investigation of the case be transferred from the Manila Police District to the National Bureau of Investigation.
