Overloaded tricycle falls into ravine; 1 dead, 11 hurt

LEGAZPI CITY, Philippines – A high school student died while 11 others sustained injuries when a tricycle they were riding home fell into a ravine on Thursday afternoon in Tabaco City, Albay after one of its tires exploded due to overloading, police said.

Superintendent Renato Bataller, Bicol police spokesman, identified the fatality as Marilou Capuz, 17, a student of the Bantayan National High School.

Those injured, including tricycle driver Sony Arsigabon, 19, were rushed to the Bicol Regional Training and Teaching Hospital here for treatment.
