NBI zero-in on Aman exec's whereabouts
ZAMBOANGA CITY - The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) regional office have started to zero-in on the whereabouts of the operators and co-incorporators of the pyramiding Aman Futures Group, according to official.
Atty. Manuel Almendares, NBI regional director, said a directive has been issued by the national office on orders by Justice Secretary Leila de Lima to ensure the immediate arrest of the suspects.
Almendares said that after the regional NBI has pinpointed the whereabouts of Aman Group's officers, charges will be filed against them. They expect the immediate issuance of arrest warrants righter after the filing of the cases.
Task Force Aman formed by Western Mindanao police director Chief Superintendent Napoleon Estilles has also prepared for the pursuit operation in cooperation with the NBI.
The pursuit operations will be immediately carried out once the warrants of arrest are issued by the court.
Almendares said that the top target of the task force would be Aman's chairman, Manuel Amalilio and other top officials of the pyramiding firm. There are, however, earlier reports that Amalilio has already left the Philippines for Malaysia.
He said that Amalilio has about seven incorporators and a number of cohorts who are still in the country.
The NBI official said even those who have assumed of just bridging into investing with the Aman Futures will be included in the hunt if there will be complains against them
“Whatever is the manner of forwarding the investment to the Aman Futures, if they are being complained as part of the scheme, so, definitely we have to file cases against them,” Almendares said.
Meanwhile, the local government here has started checking government documents in connection with Amalilio's supposed acquired properties in the city.
City Mayor Celso Lobregat said they have read in some reports that Amalilio have once stayed in his acquired house along the Governor Camins Road.
