MANILA, Philippines - Anti-narcotics agents has arrested a pedicab driver moonlighting as a drug pusher in Cotabato City, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said Monday.
PDEA chief Arturo Cacdac Jr. identified the suspect as Madatu Uban, 33, of San Jose, Mother Barangay Tamontaka, Cotabato City.
Cacdac said Uban was arrested by PDEA agents last November 14 during a buy-bust operation in San Jose, Mother Barangay Tamontaka, Cotabato City.
Uban yielded three grams of shabu; 500 grams of dried marijuana leaves; and assorted drug paraphernalia.
Reports also revealed that Uban, a drug personality included in the PDEA Watch List of Drug Personalities, was responsible for the proliferation of illegal drugs in Mother Barangay Tamontaka and other neighboring barangays.
Uban is now detained at the PDEA Regional Office-ARMM Custodial Facility.
Cases for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs), Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs) and Section 12 (Possession of Paraphernalia), Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are now being prepared for filing in court against him.
