Western Visayas poll hotspots rise to 315

ILOILO CITY, Philippines – The list of election hotspots in Western Visayas has ballooned from 49 to 315 barangays, according to a top official of the Region 6 police.

Of the 315 barangays, Senior Superintendent Manuel Felix, deputy director for administration of the regional police, said 89 are classified under category 1 or areas of concern and 226 are listed as areas of immediate concern.

Negros Occidental has 126 barangays in the watchlist, followed by Capiz with 77, Iloilo with 75, Antique with 17, Aklan and Iloilo City each with nine, and Bacolod City with two.

Guimaras has no reported poll hotspot.
