COTABATO CITY, Philippines – Workers of private establishments in Central Mindanao ought to start receiving an additional P4 to P6 in cost of living allowance (COLA) from their employers starting Dec. 1.
Chona Mantilla, Region 12 director of the Department of Labor and Employment, said an increase of P6 to P8 daily earlier took effect last April.
Beginning Dec. 1, Mantilla said workers in agriculture plantations should have a take-home pay of P252, while those working in the non-plantation firms must each be paid P249 daily.
Workers in retail and service establishments with more than 10 employees should get a daily take-home pay of P250 by Dec. 1.
Those employed by establishments with less than 10 workers, meanwhile, should receive a daily wage of P246.
Region 12 also covers the cities of Cotabato, Kidapawan, and Tacurong, and North Cotabato province.
