ZAMBOANGA CITY - An insurance firm operator was abducted and was found dead a day later in a town of Zamboanga del Sur, according to police official.
The victim, also a car dealer, was identified as Anwar Alvin Zainal, 34, owner of Security Pacific Insurance based in Pagadian City, said regional police director Chief Superintendent Napoleon Estilles.
Investigation disclosed that the victim was with his wife in the insurance firm in front of the local Land Transportation Office (LTO) at Barangay Tiguma when he was forcibly taken by unidentified armed suspects and takemwhisked into a getaway service utility vehicle colored red about 3:40 p.m. Monday and fled toward unknown directions.
Estilles said the police who was alerted about the incident immediately launched pursuit and conducted dragnet operations to track down the victim and the suspects.
However, the following day the police recovered a cadaver along the highway in Barangay Balocot in Tambulig town, Zamboanga del Sur about 6 a.m.
Estilles said the cadaver was identified to be Zainal based on the identification card recovered from the body.
Further investigation revealed that the motive of the abduction and execution was "personal".
