Davao cops probe death of man in crocs’ lagoon

The Philippine Star

DAVAO CITY, Philippines – Authorities here are conducting further investigation into the death of a jobless man after he was attacked by crocodiles in a man-made lagoon in Sto. Tomas, Davao del Norte last week.

The decomposing remains of 57-year-old Sorbelo Sonajo were recovered over the weekend from the lagoon in the inland resort of the JK Mercado and Sons Agricultural Enterprises in Sto. Tomas town.

Police wanted to know how Sonajo was able to gain entry to the lagoon.

Police said Sonajo could have been killed somewhere else and his body thrown into the crocodile pen to mislead authorities.

Police though said Sonajo, a resident of Luna village in nearby Kapalong town, could have also fallen into the lagoon and then attacked by the crocodiles.
