LEGAZPI  CITY, Philippines – Faster work at the Southern Luzon International Airport (SLIA) in Daraga, Albay is expected after the Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) successfully bid out the P1-billion project for the completion of the airport’s runway.

Albay Gov. Joey Salceda said SLIA is the biggest private-public partnership project in Bicol and one of the key commitments of President Aquino in his third State of the Nation Address.

The National Economic and Development Authority’s Investment Coordination-Cabinet Committee approved the project with a funding of P4.799 billion from the DOTC budget last July 12.
