MANILA, Philippines - Three earthquakes hit Sarangani in Davao del Sur yesterday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
Phivolcs said the first earthquake, which struck at 12:28 a.m., registered at magnitude 4.9. The movement was recorded at 14 kilometers northeast of Sarangani, Davao del Sur.
The second quake of magnitude 5.2, occurred at 7:46 a.m. while a 5.1 magnitude temblor was recorded at 8:55 a.m.
The epicenter was traced at 99 kms and 90 kms southwest of Sarangani, respectively.
The three quakes were said to be tectonic in origin. There were no reported intensities.
