AFP hits NPA killing of Davao fish vendor
MANILA, Philippines - The military has criticized human rights watchdogs for being “blinded” to alleged violations committed by the New People’s Army (NPA).
This came after a man was shot dead as he sold fish in Davao City by four men who authorities identified as NPA members.
Rannel Parilla, 34, was gunned down in front of his wife Edgiely as they were vending fish in Barangay Malabog, Paquibato district last Wednesday afternoon.
Lt. Col. Lyndon Paniza, spokesman of the Army’s 10th Infantry Division in Davao City, said the NPA members showed their true nature as “cold blooded criminals.”
