CALAPAN CITY , Philippines – More than 50 percent of harvestable palay in the whole of Oriental Mindoro has been left destroyed by tropical storm “Ofel” which pummeled the province on Thursday, according to initial reports from the provincial agriculture office.
Meanwhile, Ofel left a four-year-old boy dead and a 16-year-old girl injured in Mansalay town, Oriental Mindoro, provincial disaster officials said.
Ofel affected more than 2,500 people in the province, they added.
