ILAGAN CITY, Philippines – Two siblings of reelectionist Isabela Gov. Faustino Dy III, the mayor of this newly established city and a second-term mayor, along with her entire lineup, are given assurance of a worry-free campaign for the 2013 polls.
Mayor Michael Dy of San Manuel town, along with Vice Mayor Mario Napicog, is running unopposed for his second term. The mayor’s elder brother, Benjamin, is also running unopposed in Cauayan City, the family’s hometown. Benjamin was a former governor who succeeded their father, the late Faustino Dy Sr., in 2001.
Mayor Josemarie Diaz, fresh from the success of the conversion of Ilagan into a city, is also running unopposed.
Enjoying the same situation is Angadanan Mayor Lourdes Panganiban, who has no rivals, as with her vice mayoral running mate and entire slate for the municipal council.
