14 NAIA-bound flights diverted to Clark
CLARK FREEPORT, Pampanga, Philippines – At least 14 flights bound for the Ninoy Aquino International Airport were diverted to the airport here after NAIA’s instrument landing system (ILS) reportedly bogged down.
The ILS guides aircraft landing with the use of radio signals and high-intensity lighting arrays to enable safe landing during bad weather.
Among the flights diverted to Clark, included international flights on Asiana, Thai Airways, Philippine Airlines and China Southern Airline.
NAIA-bound flights had been diverted to the Clark International Airport during emergencies, including bad weather.
