DAGUPAN CITY, Philippines – It’s a fight between David and Goliath for the gubernatorial post in Pangasinan as Alaminos City Mayor Hernani Braganza is challenging reelectionist Gov. Amado Espino Jr.
“It was a collective decision of the Liberal Party with the blessing of course of President Aquino and our party president, (Interior and Local Government) Secretary Mar Roxas and it is our honor and privilege with Kuya Art (Lomibao) to offer Pangasinan a pro-Pangasinan leadership,” Braganza told local newsmen after filing his certificate of candidacy.
“Many say this is a fight between David and Goliath. I’m the small one in this fight,” he said.
Braganza’s running mate is retired Philippine National Police chief Arturo Lomibao. Former governor Victor Agbayani will be their campaign manager.
Espino’s running mate is reelectionist Vice Gov. Jose Ferdinand Calimlim Jr.
