Goma, Lucy file COCs

ORMOC CITY, Philippines – Actor Richard Gomez and his wife Lucy Torres-Gomez yesterday filed their certificates of candidacy (COCs) for mayor of this city and congresswoman of Leyte, respectively.

“This time I am entering the political arena with eyes wide open,” the congresswoman said. She was the first candidate to file a COC at the Commission on Elections office in Tacloban at around 10:30 a.m.

Richard, on the other hand, told reporters that the Codillas should blame themselves for having an opponent for mayor in Ormoc. “ If they did not work to have me disqualified when I ran for Congress, they could have run unopposed,” he said.

Richard’s running mate is Carmelo Locsin Jr., 38, youngest son of former lawmakers Carmelo and Vicky Locsin.
