LINGAYEN, Pangasinan, Philippines – Dengue fever has resulted in 13 deaths with 3,043 suspected cases in Pangasinan while at least 10 persons died and 7,178 others were hospitalized due to acute gastroenteritis, a report of the provincial health office reported yesterday.
The report covers cases from January to Sept. 14.
Anna Ma. Teresa de Guzman, provincial health officer, said three of the dengue fatalities were from Bolinao, two from Rosales and one each from Bugallon, Mangatarem, Calasiao, Mangaldan, San Fabian, Binalonan, Urdaneta City and Umingan.
All the 44 towns and four cities reported dengue cases with the highest number recorded in Urdaneta City.
Of the 10 gastroenteritis deaths, one came from Bugallon town; two each in Mangaldan, San Carlos City and Basista; and three in Sta. Barbara.
