2 killed, 78 injured in Camarines mishap

CAPALONGA, Camarines Norte, Philippines – Two high school students were killed and at least 78 others suffered injuries when the municipal government-owned truck they were riding rolled over and then plunged into a ravine last Saturday afternoon.

The fatalities were identified as Robert Glamor, 15, and Sarah Jane de Mesa, 14, both students of the Gonzalo Aler National High School.

The injured included teachers and students aged 13 to 17. It was not clear where they were headed to when they met the accident.

The truck driver surrendered to the police, while Capalonga officials gave assistance to the victims.
