Spanish envoy to grace Bulacan's history confab
MALOLOS CITY, Philippines – Spanish Ambassador Jorge Manuel Domecq is expected to grace a three-day history conference here next week.
Dubbed as “El Pueblo Soberano 200,” the conference will be held at the Barasoain Center for Innovative Education starting Sept. 13.
The conference is part of Bulacan’s annual Singkaban Fiesta with the theme “Lalawigang Huwaran ang Pamahalaan, Tahanan ng Dakilang Lahi, Sentro ng kasaysayan ng Bansa – Bulacan, sa daigdig ay ibandila.”
The festival will be marked with austerity measures as the province still reel from flashfloods spawned by the recent southwest monsoon.
Board member Michael Fermin, chairman of the committee on culture of the Sangguniang Panglalawigan of Bulacan, said they have invited the ambassador to the conference.
He said the conference is part of the province’s commemoration of the 114th anniversary of the Congreso Revolucionario of 1898 in Barasoain Church.
