Jail guard charged for 2 cop chiefs' deaths

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna – A jail guard moonlighting as a jeepney driver was charged yesterday for the deaths of two municipal police chiefs in a road accident in Calauan town the other day.

Leonilo Resurreccion, 53, also a personal driver of the provincial jail warden, retired police colonel Cesar Perez, was charged with reckless imprudence resulting in double homicide, damage to property and serious physical injuries before the provincial prosecutor’s office.

Resurreccion was driving the passenger jeepney that rammed a parked police car, killing Senior Inspector Alex Marasigan and Chief Inspector Santiago Cuntapay, police chiefs of Victoria and Calauan towns, respectively.
