La Union cop faces charges for rape of inmate
SAN FERNANDO, La Union – The provincial prosecutor’s office has found probable cause to indict a police official accused of raping a female detainee in Pugo town several times last May and June.
Provincial prosecutor Danilo Bumacod told The STAR that he will file today the case against Senior Inspector Jessie Quesada before the regional trial court in Agoo town.
Quesada was a former police chief of Pugo town but was removed from his post after he was charged with rape by a 23-year-old inmate who he allegedly caught with illegal drugs.
Bumacod, however, dismissed the charges of grave misconduct and serious neglect of duty against Quesada’s personnel, namely PO1 Juvelyn Camat, PO1 Marlyn Lozano, PO2 Bismark Estabillo, PO1 Eduardo Sario, PO1 Serafin Fernandez, PO2 Jessie Piran, PO2 Roy Aspuria, SPO4 Bong Lagao, and a certain Hermosa.
