Shabu supplier in Cebu falls

MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) announced yesterday the arrest of a suspected supplier of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu in Cebu.

PDEA operatives nabbed Joel Zamoro, alias Judge, 41, of Barangay Langtad, Naga City.

PDEA Director General Jose Gutierrez Jr. said the suspect was collared by PDEA Regional Office 7 agents under Director Jigger Montallana in an entrapment in Barangay Bairan.

Zamoro was caught in the act of selling a plastic sachet of shabu to a poseur-buyer.

Further search on the suspect resulted in the seizure of 20 grams of shabu, a digital weighing scale, three notebooks with list of drug transactions, a caliber .38 pistol with ammunition and two P1,000 marked bills.

Zamoro will be charged with violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. 

Gutierrez said a separate case for illegal possession of firearms will be slapped against the suspect.
