Penniless woman buries hubby's body in backyard

MANILA, Philippines - Unable to give her husband a decent burial as she had no money, a 47-year-old housemaid placed his body in a sack and dumped it in their backyard in Barangay Libis, Binangonan, Rizal.

However, a barangay watchman reported the incident to Senior Superintendent Rolando Anduyan, Rizal police director, who immediately ordered scene of the crime operatives to conduct an autopsy on the body of Wilfredo Casco, 47, who had reportedly suffered from tuberculosis and was found dead in their house on the night of Aug. 22.

Anduyan also placed Casco’s widow, Maria Teresa, under police custody.
