Batangas, Philippines – Three boys drowned while catching crablets near a river in Agoncillo town in this province last Saturday, police said yesterday.
Senior Superintendent Rosauro Acio, Batangas police director identified the fatalities as King David Cuarto, 12, George Francis Ferea, 14, and Edgar John Cabrera, 14, all residents of Barangay Bagong Sikat, Agoncillo municipality.
Reports said the three victims were catching crablets near the Pansipit River when they were swept away by strong current and drowned.
Rescuers tried to save the victims but they were found lifeless after more than an hour of searching.
