Indonesian tugboat runs aground off Zambales

- The Philippine Star

Manila, Philippines -  An Indonesian tugboat has run aground off Zambales province, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said yesterday.

The vessel ran aground in the vicinity of Barangay Sindol, San Felipe town at around 1 p.m. last Wednesday.

The PCG said M/T Harlina 3 has 11 crewmembers.

Initial information reaching the PCG showed that the towing line of M/T Harlina 3 got tangled in its propeller causing its engine to stop working. The vessel then drifted until it ran aground.

Senior Superintendent Francsico Santiago, Zambales police provincial director, said three of the 11 crewmen were rescued by fishermen off Sitio Laoag in Barangay Maloma last Sunday.

The vessel, which is owned by Borneo Karya Sadir, left Indonesia for China last Aug. 9.
