CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Philippines – The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) filed charges yesterday here against suspected vehicle and firearms dealer Lynard Allan Bigcas with the city prosecutor’s office.
PDEA-Region 10 spokesperson Juliet Caga-anan said Bigcas was charged with illegal possession of firearms and ammunition and violation of drug laws.
Reports said Bigcas was arrested after his motorcycle crashed into a convoy of vehicles led by PDEA regional director Roberto Opeña along Velez street early Saturday morning.
Opeña said Bigcas rushed to a pickup truck parked nearby and pulled out an M16 rifle when PDEA agents confronted him, resulting in a scuffle.
When Bigcas was subdued, agents found assorted drug paraphernalia and a sachet of shabu. – Jigger Jerusalem, Reinir Padua
