MANILA, Philippines - A magnitude 3.7 earthquake rocked parts of Leyte yesterday but there were no reports of damage or injuries, state seismologists said.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the tremor struck at around 1:49 a.m. and was centered 16 kilometers northeast of Ormoc City, Leyte.
It was felt at Intensity 4 in Ormoc City and Kananga, Leyte; Intensity 3 in Tacloban City and Carigara and Pastrana, Leyte; and Intensity 2 in Palo and Tolosa, also both in Leyte.
Meanwhile, earthquakes also hit Dagupan City and Ayungon, Negros Oriental yesterday.
The tremors with magnitudes 2.8 and 3.3 occurred at around 4:17 a.m. and 8:02 a.m., respectively. The quakes, however, were not felt, Phivolcs said.
