Duterte unfazed by DILG, CHR probes
DAVAO CITY, Philippines – Vice Mayor Rodrigo Duterte is unfazed by the fact-finding probe being initiated by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the Commission on Human Rights (CHR) for his allegedly having forced a suspected swindler to chew a copy of a fake land order that he used in claiming a vacant lot in a village here.
“I will remain silent. I’m already being investigated. After that, I will talk,” Duterte said.
Duterte said he would keep mum on the incident now that charges have been filed against him by a certain Manolito Gavas, who was earlier arrested for alleged robbery, malicious mischief, grave threat and trespassing, as complained by the owner of Victoria Village in Barangay Matina Aplaya.
Duterte said he would wait for the results of the investigation before giving any comment.
